Park City 2022 Trip Report

Summary

Quick 3 day weekend trip to Park City in November.  Total out of pocket: $1902.75

Travel Notes (All prices below are USD unless otherwise noted)

Travel

  • Much of our air travel expenses were defrayed by using previously accrued Amex Airline Credits.
  • We flew into SLC and rented a car.  Just a note - SLC to Southwest Gates is really far.  Make sure you allot enough time to walk to your gate upon departure.
  • Rented a car through Costco Travel for a reasonable price.

Accommodations

  • Waldorf Astoria Park City
    • We had Diamond status for the stay.
    • We used 3 free night certificates.
    • Booked a base level 1 King Bed with Fireplace and received a complementary upgrade to a 1 Bedroom Superior Suite with a Queen Sofa bed.  This was an extremely nice gesture and improved the quality of the stay significantly for us.
      • The suite included a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator and gas stove!

Entertainment

  • Unfortunately, we arrived a week before the ski lifts and winter tubing opened.  Although this was very likely why there was almost no one else at the hotel and why we were able to get the upgraded suite.
  • We ended up mostly sledding the entire time.
    • The Park City library had a nice small hill (that is location in the picture above).  They also had free sleds and the library itself is really nice.
    • The FCD hill was less groomed but steeper/longer (shown in the sledding video linked below).
  • In the evening we had daily smores at the hotel (they had free kits).

Mobile/Internet

  • Hotel wifi was great.  LTE/4G reception was great everywhere we went.

Laundry

  • The suite included a full washer and dryer combo with detergent/dryer sheets included!  This was so convenient for us and really nice amenity from the hotel.

Food

  • Maria's Mexican Grill in Salt Lake was pretty good!  I'm usually critical of Mexican food outside of Southern California/Mexico, but enjoyed the food there.
  • We got to try CupBop - Bulgogi in a cup.  It was ok.
